Poverty Map of Trier / Armenkarte Trier, 1832

In view of an approaching cholera-epidemic, in 1832 the authorities of Rhenish Prussia took a census of the assumably poor households in the provincial town of Trier. The essential approach of the IT project was to merge the Prussian statistic with a contemporary map of Trier to display the distribution of poverty through various modes of digital filtering. The Application has been conceived and implemented at the University of Trier for the Karl Marx Grand State Exhibition.
